  1. YouTube v. Vimeo
Both websites, YouTube and Vimeo, are more likely attract almost all ages from the age 8 and older. Both are video broadcasting websites, and both are in consistent competition with one another. Both have fairly similar qualities and very alike in several ways for example, the set up of where the video takes place. Some say one is better than another for many reasons, even couple youtubers have admitted to Vimeo being the better website. (etc.). The purposes of the websites are to either bring entertainment or education, things from make-up and comedic personalities, to formulas and lessons based on; english, science or math.

  2. Soundcloud and Bandcamp

Both websites allow Independent artists to upload their music on the page and create an artist profile. The websites' audience is lovers of music. Whether you are an artist or a fan, you can both enjoy the websites. On Soundcloud you can record music on the page, as well as upload your own music. As a member of the website you can also upload podcasts and djs' can share their mixes. You can also listen to speeches.Fans can upload music tracks from their favorite artists (well known and independent) too. You can share privately or publicly. The website is available on a computer, tablet or smart phone. You can also share the music on Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter.
On Bandcamp you can upload original music as an artist. As a fan tho, you can't upload ANY kind of music, because the music on the page is only from Independent artists that are trying to gain publicity or sell their tracks to collect funds. As a fan you can support the artist you like by buying their tracks with the amount stated or more. If you're a fan, you can ad your fav. songs onto a wishlist, but the only catch is that you have to purchase at least one song, so that you can gain more privileges on the page. The website is also targeted for labels. If you are a label, you have to pay in order to upload the bands's music, up to 15 artists.
The point of both websites is to allow Independent artist to share their music, whether they want to gain publicity worldwide or just locally. For fans, it allows individuals to explore the world of Independent music.

  3. Yahoo Vs Google

Both websites are a kind of search engines. Each website has its personal way of giving and sharing information. The companies almost work the same but have different ideas on how they present information. Yahoo has information given right from the webpage and Google has its information in forms of tabs that can take you to a broad webpage. They are both for an audience that have a comparability related to computers because they both have the same idea of giving information. The genre of the websites is similar in a form that they both offer almost the same context but translate to different websites that give the same idea of information.

  4. Peer Pressure: Pinterest and Bro

My iPhone seems to consist solely of apps intended for social and communication purposes. You know Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. So naturally when asked to choose two to review I had to go with two social apps. I chose bro and pinterest. Bro is something my friends had been badgering me over for a while. They said it was great. "Finally a gay app that doesn't suck" they said. From what I had heard bro is like a less sleazy version of Tinder/Grindr for men. According to bro founder Scott Kutler bro is developed for men that are looking for friends, dates and long-term relationships. It's a dating app intended to create connections between all kinds of men. Unlike it's competitors– Tinder, Grindr and Scruff–bro sets itself apart by being founded on truth and kindness. From my quick intro I was able to grasp the integrity bro entails. You must link your Facebook account (to prevent cat fishing) and they have a strict no shaming policy. This prevents you from posting most of the crap you can post on most of its competitors. Bro takes pride in being label-free which is always a plus. No labels, fat-shaming or cat fishing so my friends may have been right. Pinterest on the other hand is the visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save creative ideas. This according to their website. My friends are hooked and I can't figure out why. The app seems to target a wide audience and is intended to promote creativity. Its competitors–weheartit, fancy and indulgy–are numerous but at the same time archaic if not cheap knockoffs. I snatched my friends phone and lurked her pinterest. It seemed like a simple interface laced with a b lunch of stuff she loves. She snatched it back before I was able to fully grasp the concept but it still managed to pique my interest. Together these apps should be able to occupy me for the weeks to come.

  5. Surfline vs. MagicSeaweed

Surfline and MagicSeaweed allow surfers and beach goers to look at surf forecast, surf reports, live video, pictures, and advice/tips for different beaches around the world. Both can be accessed through the web or through an application to receive accurate reports which are updated daily and for some popular beaches hourly.

  6. Amazon vs. eBay

Amazon and eBay are both online marketplaces where the user can shop and sell at their leisure. The main difference here is that on eBay, users are buying directly from other people. On Amazon it is possible to buy from a third party, but most products are directly from Amazon. The two have their advantages and disadvantages, but both are reliable, and safe and easy to buy from. In the case of Amazon, however, they also offer a video and music streaming service for members of their "Prime" service.

    You Tube vs Vine
I narrowed my list of five website down to these two websites known as Youtube.com and Vine. Although Vine is mainly used as an application on cell phones, it serves sort of the same purpose. It’s used to record videos and post them, as you can do with you tube. Both are used to record either a video, a message, a tutorial, entertainment or whatever you want to record to your liking. Many different people use these sites or applications for different reasons. Both men and women use these sources on the regular for different purposes. Whether it be trying to send a message, for exposure, or just for fun. Mainly for the purpose to pass on a message, either through music, a video or skit, or even a tutorial to pass on a learning.
I believe men and women of all ages use Youtube.com for their own personal reasons. Many famous people have been discovered because of this website. Music artist have been found, also comedians or actors have been discovered through Youtube.com. For example, people record videos or music and then post it on youtube.com, which then goes viral all around the world, which allows people to view it. If people show interest in your videos, many people will view it. All views get added up and in turn show if people are interested in whatever it is you are posting.
Vine on the other hand is also a video recording based application. However, I think Vine is mainly used for people to record videos for entertainment purposes as well as to capture the moment in a video. I’ve noticed many people use vine for entertainment purposes. Users create their own genre of video in there recording. Whether it be for comedy, a skit for acting, possibly even for promotion, etc. Often users cut and edit videos to create an entertaining type of video.
